EquaHealth Program


The EquaHealth program is a specialty clinic located at WV Health Right’s main clinic at 1520 Washington St. East, Charleston, WV.  The clinic hours are the third Wednesday of every month from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. This specialty clinic focuses on the healthcare needs of the LGBTQ+ community and includes access to primary care/routine Exams, vaccines, cancer screening, contraception, STI prevention, testing, treatment, pharmacy access, PrEP, gender-affirming hormone therapy, gender-affirming support (pre and/or post-op), specialist referrals.

Also, services include behavioral health, substance use treatment, individual counseling, and support groups.  Call to make an appointment.  Walk-ins welcome.

Support Groups

LGBTQ+ support groups, including specific support groups for the trans community, are available every Wednesday at 2:30 p.m.  The groups meet in the second-floor conference room at the main clinic.


Appointments fill up quickly so please call early. If you can’t make your scheduled appointment, please give 24 hours notice. Walk-in and Telehealth appointments are available. Call for an appointment at 304.414.5930.


Medical Services

WV Health Right provides primary and specialty care to its patients. All patients are assigned to a “medical team’. Your team will be able to han-dle any questions about your health care, preventive measures, and treatment.


Prevention Services

HIV, STD, Hep-c, PrEP, Vaccines, and Family Planning are available.



Groups Support Sessions, Specialty Providers, Peer Counseling, and Harm Reduction


Lab Work & Results

Lab work is provided at the clinic. See provider for fasting instructions. Lab results will be sent to you within 30 days of your test and will also be available through the clinic’s patient portal on our website at www.wvhealthright.org.


Dental and Vision

WV Health Right offers free on-site access to dental and vision services. For more information or to schedule an appointment call 304-414-5930.



WV Health Right patients who are uninsured can have medications filled at our main clinic Pharmacy but can be picked up after 3:00 here. Patients who have Medicaid or Medicare coverage will have their prescriptions e-prescribed to a retail pharmacy of their choice. WV Health Right does not carry controlled drugs, narcotics, sedatives, tranquilizers, pain medications, or sleeping pills.



Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is available for anyone that wants to prevent HIV and is easy as taking one pill once a day. The use of PrEP has shown positive results at significantly reducing the risk of being infected. Those who benefit from treatment include:

-gay and bisexual men

-transgender women

-heterosexual men and women

-individuals who inject drugs

Telehealth appointments are also available for new or current patients seeking access to PrEP. 99% of people pay nothing out of pocket for PrEP with or without insurance.


Behavioral Health

WV Health Right has a dedicated team of behavioral health specialists on staff that provide comprehensive behavioral health services to those in need.


Health Education

WV Health Right offers an array of health education classes. More than 50 classes are offered every month and include Diabetes Management, Tobacco Cessation, Weight Loss, Healthy Cook-ing/Nutrition, and Healthy Heart. For information regarding class days and times, call 304.414.5925.



A full-time counselor is available. Referrals to drug treatment services are available.
