West Virginia Health Right cares for the most vulnerable in the Kanawha Valley. Our patients, who are uninsured or underinsured and living at or below 250% of the federal poverty level, never receive a bill for our services. Comprehensive healthcare services include medical, dental, vision, behavioral health, and pharmaceutical care, substance use disorder treatment, health education, mobile dental and mobile medical/street outreach services. All are provided by volunteers.
Clinic services have expanded to include an extensive behavioral health program that offers substance use disorder treatment, psychiatric services, and individual and group counseling.
Health Education programs have expanded to include a comprehensive teaching kitchen, smoking cessation and weight loss programs, and cardiovascular and diabetic education and training.
Staff has increased from 32 full-time employees to 70 full and part-time employees.
Volunteers have increased from 100 to more than 600 medical professionals.
The number of patients served has increased from 15,000 to more than 42,000.
We anticipate caring for more than 60,000 patients in the next few years.
A three-story addition to our Main Clinic will house additional space for behavioral health services, substance use disorder treatment, expanding the on-site pharmacy, and improved dental and vision clinics.
The expansion will include additional office space for staff and volunteers.

The project is “shovel ready” and will be completed in 16 – 18 months after construction begins.
The total campaign cost is $12 million dollars.
We have statewide coverage, serving patients from 35 counties and counting.
