May 2024 Newsletter

Welcome to West Virginia Health Right’s May Newsletter!

We hope you’re getting outside, getting moving, and enjoying this beautiful time of year. Did you know that May is both National Nurses Month as well as Mental Health Awareness Month? We’re celebrating all of it along with a few other updates!

May is Nurses Month!

While we celebrate nurses all year round, we’re taking a moment to give them some extra appreciation this month—and we encourage you to do the same! The American Nurses Association’s theme for this year is Nurses Make the Difference, and is meant to ‘honor the incredible nurses who embody the spirit of compassion and care in every healthcare setting.’ We’re so grateful for nurses—at WV Health Right and beyond—for their attentiveness and care.

The countdown is on! Our East End Clinic is Expanding!

The new three-story addition to our East End Clinic will feature expanded behavioral health servicessubstance use disorder treatment, a larger on-site pharmacy, and enhanced dental and vision clinics. RSVP now!

Mental Health Awareness Month

We’re also celebrating Mental Health Awareness this month. Not only is mental health just as important as physical health, but it’s so vital to remember how both are connected. WV Health Right is here to support you with all of it—offering behavioral health services at our East End ClinicCovenant House, and West Side Clinic locations. Our team of qualified, compassionate behavioral health specialists work around the clock to meet the holistic needs of our community—learn more and schedule an appointment at the link below.

Interested in spending time this summer connecting with your community in a simple yet meaningful way? Our Volunteers with Heart program provides individuals with a chance to become more involved in our day-to-day operations by greeting our patients and guiding them to the appropriate department at our East End Clinic. All that’s required is a friendly and helpful attitude! To learn more and register, check out the link below:

Angie Settle granted Women on a Mission Award

On May 7th, our very own CEO Angie Settle received a Women on a Mission Award from Union Mission. In their words, this award is intended to “honor women who consistently dedicate their time, resources, talents and hearts to help others.” We couldn’t agree more with their choice to honor Angie, and we encourage you to read more about all of the incredible awardees at the link below. Congratulations, Angie!

There are so Many Ways to Give

As always, we can’t provide free and charitable healthcare to this community without you. There are so many ways, large and small, to show your support:

  • You can sign up for the Kroger Community Rewards program and designate WV Health Right as your organization. It’s easy! Just register your Plus Card, enter our account number: IQ159, and swipe your card every time you shop at Kroger.
  • You can make a recurring donation or a one-time gift by visiting here.

Thanks for coming alongside us to impact our community’s health and save lives!

Just as we can’t carry out our mission of providing free and charitable clinics without our amazing volunteers, we also can’t do this work without the generous support of our donors. Click the link below to become a monthly donor or give a one-time gift—no amount is too small to have an impact at WV Health Right.
