Arrival: Doors to the clinic will open at 8 a.m. on Saturday. Staff will be at the clinic by 6:30 a.m.
Check-In: When you arrive, staff and volunteers will greet you and help you get checked in.
Wait Times: We’ll do our best to serve everyone quickly, but please be patient as we care for each person with compassion.
Bring anything you might need while waiting—snacks, water, medications, and clothing for the weather. A porta-potty will be available outside. Restrooms will be available on-site once the clinic opens.
Patient parking will be available at our East End Clinic, located at 1520 Washington St E, Charleston, WV. Overflow parking will be at Plaza East, across from GoMart Ballpark.
During #WeCareWV Day, you’ll have access to FREE health services, including:
Please note: Dental and vision services services will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Due to time constraints, patients will need to choose between medical and dental or medical and vision services. You cannot do both dental and vision. Medical services will be available to everyone attending the clinic.
Due to limited parking near the clinic, we ask all volunteers to park at the Plaza East parking lot, where a shuttle will transport you to the East End Clinic. The shuttle will run regularly throughout the day.
We’ve reserved parking closer to the clinic for patients, physicians, dentists, eye doctors, nurse practitioners/physician assistants, and pharmacists, as well as for volunteers with accessibility needs. Please help us reserve those spots by utilizing the shuttle from Plaza East.
Plaza East Address: 670 Morris St, Charleston, WV 25301
(Across from GoMart Ballpark)
Look for the clearly marked shuttle pick-up point. Shuttle bus pick-ups begin at 5:30 AM.
Once you’ve checked in, you’ll receive your final role assignment and your volunteer t-shirt to wear throughout the event. This helps us identify all volunteers easily.
We’re treating all our amazing volunteers to a Tailgate Party from 11 AM to 2 PM, complete with delicious food and the football games on the big screen. While you’re helping care for our community, you can also huddle up and cheer on the Mountaineers!
Comfort is key—wear casual, comfortable clothes or scrubs if you’re a healthcare professional. Don’t forget layers for temperature changes and comfy shoes since you might be on your feet!
Along with the tailgate lunch, we’ll provide light snacks throughout the day, including coffee and donuts in the morning. Be sure to bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated. Breaks will be arranged by your team leads during the event.
If you have any accessibility needs or concerns, please reach out to Hannah King at 304-414-5940.
Thank you again for signing up to volunteer for #WeCareWV Day. We’re so excited to see you on October 17th and to work together for the health and well-being of our community.
