There are a number of ways you can donate to WV Health Right to help us continue to provide vital and lifesaving healthcare to low-income, uninsured, underinsured, and underserved adults throughout South Central West Virginia.

Many companies offer matching gift programs to encourage employees to contribute to charitable organizations. These programs typically match your contributions dollar for dollar. Please check with your employer about their matching gift program, complete the required forms, and send your donation to WV Health Right.
A gift of appreciated securities held for more than one year can provide significant benefits to you as well as WV Health Right. If you are interested in donating securities, please call Angie Settle at (304) 414-5931 for instructions and forms.
In December 2005, the WV Health Right Board of Directors, in an act of prudent stewardship and fiduciary responsibility, established a permanent endowment for the clinic. WV Health Right, while traditionally successful in its fundraising, relies on many sources of funding that could become sporadic or unreliable. An endowment ensures that in periods of financial stress the clinic can continue to serve the health needs of its patients. Further, grants typically are not available for the maintenance or capital needs of the organization. Our endowment is designed to ensure that low-income uninsured/underinsured individuals will have access to healthcare through WV Health Right. The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation manages the endowment. #WeCareWV Day

For the last several years, we have partnered with Remote Area Medical to host a weekend of free medical, dental, and vision care at the Bible Center School in Charleston, WV. This year, we hosted the event at our newly expanded and improved East End Clinic and will do so again next year, providing the same free healthcare in a more accessible location.

Volunteer Appreciation Dinner

WV Health Right’s annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner recognizes our dedicated team of volunteers who donate their time to the clinic, as well as our Volunteer of the Year. This event is the clinic’s primary fundraising event. Support the event by sponsoring, buying a table, or purchasing individual tickets. Volunteer

Volunteers are the very foundation of WV Health Right. Without our “army” of 600 medical and non-medical volunteers, the clinic would be unable to serve the more than 45,000 patients who find their way to us each year.

Medical Professional Volunteer Positions
Provides assessment, diagnostic, treatment, and follow-up decisions related to the health needs of patients.
Provides assessment, diagnostic, treatment, and follow-up decisions related to the health needs of patients.
Provides nursing care including initial assessment, patient education, dispensary, laboratory, and provider support. RN also initiates physician referrals, draws and processes laboratory samples, prepares exam rooms, and stocks supplies as needed.
Provides assessment, diagnostic, treatment, and follow-up decisions related to the dental needs of patients.
Provides consultation to providers and medication education, dispenses medications, and assists with maintaining medication room.
Provides group and individual disease management education in various areas including diabetes management, weight loss, tobacco cessation, and Hepatitis C management.
Provides assistance to dentist during procedures, assists with various laboratory duties such as making impressions and cleaning and polishing removable devices, and provides patient education.
Provides patient tooth and gum examinations and dental cleanings, and educates patients in developing a good oral hygiene plan.
Takes patient to available exam room and assists patient in filling out medical history forms as needed. Obtains vital signs, weight, and chief complaint from patient, assists provider as needed, assists in laboratory and dispensary as needed, and cleans exam room after patient use.
General Volunteer Positions
Assists with filing, copies and collates brochures, prepares mailings, performs data entry, and assists with maintaining orderly storage areas.
Volunteers (either individuals or groups) are needed to provide special services such as painting, cleaning, landscaping, and outside maintenance.
