Reflecting on 2025
2025 was full of new patients, partners, and possibilities. We were proud to graduate another cohort of students in our Prepped to Serve Appalachia program with Chef Paul, off to start careers in the food service industry. Our community expanded with new partnerships with Bridge Valley and the WVDE Adult program. We were blown away by the turnout at our second annual #WeCareWV Day, where we had the opportunity to serve over 500 patients with free dental, vision, and medical care. Another highlight of our year was launching our Mobile Teaching Kitchen at the Governor’s Mansion in June, and the ongoing hands-on nutrition education we provide with each event. Support Our Mission This Holiday Season
We saw 1,116 new patients in 2023, 1,365 new patients in 2024, and so far in 2025 we have served 1,625 new patients. That’s over 4,100 new patients in the last three years alone and 46,750 patients total who rely on our support for life-saving care. Care that they would otherwise do without. Our mission is to step in where the system falls short, providing reliable care without the fear and fallout of an unpayable bill.
This is where you can help.
For just $182.67 we are able to provide an entire year’s worth of care for a West Virginian who needs it because of our volunteers and network of in-kind support. Supporting our work comes from the heart, but it’s also smart. Healthier workers contribute to a stronger economy, helping West Virginia grow and prosper. West Virginians helping West Virginians is what WV Health Right personifies. Please join us in ensuring that a healthier West Virginia isn’t just a far-off dream, but a tangible goal.

Volunteer of the Year Dinner Recap
On December 7th, we honored the folks that embody WV Health Right’s mission year-round: our wonderful volunteers! We were thrilled to celebrate our Volunteer of the Year, Dr. Chris Stansbury, and all of the ways he’s provided compassionate, critical care to our community. Thank you to all of our sponsors for making this heartwarming annual event possible. Watch our Volunteer of the Year video honoring Dr. Chris Stansbury below:

Thank You, John Sibold—Years of Volunteering
2025 was captured beautifully by our wonderful volunteer photographer, John Sibold, who has generously given his time and expertise to our community for years. Thank you, John, for helping us tell the story of compassionate care!

In Memory of Pat White
This time last year on December 18, we lost a true trailblazer of WV Health Right’s mission, Pat White—our former CEO of over 30 years. We began our year in January by honoring her with a Celebration of Life service, and it’s in that spirit that our work continues, always. Pat’s legacy lives on through her unwavering commitment to care for those most in need.

This holiday season, give a gift that saves lives.
