January 2026 Newsletter

As we begin a new year of service at WV Health Right, we are filled with gratitude for all who make it possible.

Thanks to the generous support of donors, sponsors, and volunteers, we are able to provide high-quality, compassionate care to thousands of West Virginians. You are the reason our mission thrives.

#WeCareWV Day returns on October 17, 2026—and we are honored to welcome Larry and Lisa Pack for the third year as our Presenting Sponsors. Their leadership sets the tone for this annual day of immense impact that always spurs stories of healing and connection for patients and volunteers. If you want to change the lives of West Virginians, then we encourage you to join us this fall as a #WeCareWV Day sponsor or volunteer because it takes everyone working together to pull it off.

We’re still abuzz from our annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner last December, where we recognized the individuals who make our work possible each year. From past “Volunteer of the Year” honorees including Drs. Stansbury, Ghareeb, Takubo, Legg, and Misaghi, to the welcoming folks who help provide directions when someone walks in the door, our volunteers are the authors behind each and every success story. We look forward to announcing our 2026 Volunteer of the Year and Volunteer Appreciation Dinner details soon. Sponsorship opportunities are already available.

In 2025, we also launched our newest mobile outreach initiative: the Mobile Teaching Kitchen! Introduced at the Governor’s Mansion, the MTK delivers nutritious cooking demonstrations and health screenings directly into communities, expanding our other mobile efforts including the Mobile Dental Clinic and Mobile Medical Clinic to bring affordable healthcare directly to the thousands of hardworking people. We are always seeking sponsors to help sustain and grow this innovative program.

Whether through a sponsorship or a one-time donation, your contribution matters more than you can imagine. Every dollar helps us transform and save lives.

National Pharmacist Day

January 12th was National Pharmacist Day and we are celebrating our on-site full time pharmacist, Jack Whitley, as well our per diem pharmacists, Sharon Rubin, and Nancy Stanton, for everything they do at WVHR and for the lives they change. Thanks so much Jack, Sharon, and Nancy for your commitment to improving access to high quality, affordable solutions for West Virginians.

New Volunteers Needed for 2026

A new year is the perfect time to get involved! Just 2 hours a month at WV Health Right can transform lives, including your own. We hear all the time from volunteers that providing care through WVHR reminds them of why they got into healthcare in the first place: to give people real, life-changing care. Scheduling is flexible, parking is easy, and you’ll have support from a dedicated, professional team. Whether you’re a physician, specialist, NP, or PA, we need you—especially for our Monday and Thursday evening clinics.

Ready to make a difference? Call or text Dr. Angie Settle at 304-414-5931 today.
